2010 Snowmobile Season is winding down

Here it is only March 11 and already a majority of Maine’s central and southern trails are shut down due to no snow.

This year’s weird winter has left less then ideal conditions for the snow sledding enthusiast.

The majoriy of the Winter storms only came up the coastline as far as Southern New Hampshire and a couple did hit  the Portland Maine area a few times. Which has been tough on snowmobiling for the southern and eastern parts of  Maine.

Due to this, our sledding season for the most part was cut short to a time frame of only about  2 months of great sledding.

Western and Northern Maine has been pretty good , but still not as great as the last two years.

It’s been reported that if you don’t mind trailering your snowmobiles, that there is still some great places in Northern Maine where you can strap on your helmet and get a few last snowmobile rides in before parking your sled for the season.
